The Revolution of The Virus

The factor that, above all others, shaped the history of the twentieth century was something that happened in the century’s second decade: The Russian Revolution. In the twenty-first century too, the second decade is turning out to be eventful—this time, it’s a pandemic that has brought the world economy to a standstill for a period of, what may eventually be, several months, and it’s bound to have massive political consequences, especially in the advanced democracies. Perhaps, it will turn out to be the outstanding characteristic of this century—one that will merit a lot of explanation and analysis, and will be labeled by the historians as: the Coronavirus Revolution.
